- Story Text: Refugees continued pouring out of Russia's breakaway region of Chechnya on Saturday (January 14), following the latest Russian artillery bombardment on the capital Grozny.
People crowded onto all sorts of vehicles in a desperate attempt to flee the fighting.
In Grozny's suburbs the few remaining civilians queued for free rations of bread, brought in from Sleptsovsk, a town on the border with neighbouring Ingushetia.
In Urus-Martan, about 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of Grozny, a six-year-old boy was treated for a shrapnel wound suffered while leaving the city earlier.
An estimated 100,000 people have already fled the bitter fighting and relentless air-raids over the past weeks. Most are being housed by local people in Ingushetia and Dagestan on Chechnya's eastern border.
