- Story Text: Clashes have erupted in the Balata refugee camp in the
West Bank city of Nablus. According to Palestinian witnesses
several Palestinians were wounded during the clashes and were
evacuated to the nearest hospital.
Clashes erupted in the Balata refugee camp in the city
of Nablus in the West Bank on Saturday (June 28) as the world
waited to see what progress would emerge from talks being held
by U.S. National Security Advisor Condolezza Rice with senior
Palestinian and Israeli officials.
Youths threw a mixture of stones and masonry onto
patrolling Israeli tanks.
Earlier this week Israeli and Palestinian officials agreed
on a pullout of forces from Gaza and probably Bethlehem early
next week.
