  • Story Text: The most important part of Dr Owen's visit to Jordan was his visit to Souf refugee camp (near Jarash) at northern Jordan.

    Dr. Owen during his visit to the camp was accompanied by his counterpart Mr. Hassan Ibrahim who is also the minister for Ministry of development and construction which happened to be the ministry in charge of refugees and refugee camps. Also he was accompanied by representatives of the UNRWA.

    Souf camp established on 1967 and it houses about ten thousand residents. The British Government presented 1600 houses units (comports) for this particular camp.
