About six tonnes of milk and fruit juice arrived in Jordan on Thursday (September 20) for distribution in refugee camps.
The supplies were flown in by the Save the Children Fund and the Aseptic Packaging Council aboard a Royal Jordanian flight from New York, United States.
Save the Children Manager, Rebecca Solti, said the supplies were much needed as milk was rationed in Jordan.
Another relief package came from the Evangelical Church in Holland, for distribution in the refugee camps and among Jordanian poor. It also planned to send a truck-load of food to the Evangelical Church in Baghdad, Iraq.
About 21,000 refugees are awaiting repatriation from camps on the Jordan-Iraq border -- with a further 12,000 arriving every day. The exodus began after Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 2.
