- Story Text: Kiera Chaplin, Belfast-born granddaughter of
Charlie Chaplin and great-granddaughter of playwright
Eugene O'Neill, was suppose to ride a horse around Cannes
Thursday (May 12) to promote her starring role in the indie
comedy "Lady Godiva: Back in the Saddle."
However, when the star arrived, her horse was nowhere to
be found because festival organizers denied the request,
according to the actress.
"We spent a lot of time organising it and at the last
minute they said "oh no, well actually you can't do it,
it's getting too much attention. It's not what we were
expecting," said Chaplin.
The contemporary tale revolves around the building of
an American-style casino in Coventry, England. Jennifer
Tilly co-stars. The film will be directed by British TV
veteran Baz Taylor. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
