  • Story Text: The Lebanese Prime Minister, Mr. Rashid Karami, had talks with Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad in Damascus on Saturday (2 August) on relations between their two countries and general Arab World issues."
    Mr. Karami was making a one day visit to the Syrian capital. President Assad told Mr. Karami the success of the Geneva Middle East Peace Conference depended on Arab World unity.

    President Assad told newsmen the Golan Heights questions was not a separate issue from the Peace Conference. He said all discussions should deal with issues as whole.
