- Story Text: A delegation from the French Gaullist Party flew to Syria last week (2 October) to hold talks with Syrian President, Al Assad.
The discussions dealt with the relations between the two countries and the Middle East situation.
The French delegation was led by the head of the French Foreign Affairs Committee Jean De Lipkowski.
The other French delegates were members of the Gaullist Party (U.D.R.).
They visited Syria at the invitation of the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party.
Talks were also held between members of the delegation and the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party dealing with relations between the two parties.
SYNOPSIS: The Syrian Presidential Palace in Damascus, where on thursday President Al-Assad, met a French political delegation. The delegation was led by French Foreign Affairs Committee ahead, Jean De Lipkowski. The delegation was made up by members of the French Gaullist Party. President Al-Assad and the delegation held discussions concerning relations between Syria and France. They also discussed the current state of the Middle East situation.
The French delegation visited Syria at the invitation of the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party. M. Lipkowski held talks with the Party leaders dealing with relations between them and the Gaullist Party.
