- Story Text: An estimated 40,000 revellers have danced through the
streets of Tel Aviv waving multicoloured flags and holding
balloons, and sporting minimal clothing to celebrate the
cities annual gay pride parade.
Gays and lesbians, old and young, whistled and danced
their Friday (June 28) away in the coastal city of Tel Aviv,
only 45 minutes drive away from Jerusalem where more orthodox
Israelis prepared for the Sabbath.
Flags of colour rippled through the streets bathing in
sunshine, laughter and sexually charged dancing.
Techno music blared from loud speakers on floats as hunks
displayed their wares.
This years parade included the children of gay couples who
danced together on the roof of a truck.
It appeared, for sometime at least, that Israelis put
aside the security situation in their country. Just last week
26 Israelis were killed in back-to-back suicide bomb attacks
in Jerusalem.
