- Story Text: Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari meets Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus to discuss forthcoming regional conference on Afghanistan that is to be held in Turkey.
Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Syria on Friday (January 8) for a two-day official visit.
During talks Zardari and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed their nations' bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
Pakistani sources said that on the agenda of the talks was the preparations for the regional conference on Afghanistan that is expected to be held in Turkey by the end of January 2010.
