  • Story Text: Moscow Conference on the Middle East and bilateral relations are on the agenda Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Mideast envoy Alexander Sultanov meets with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem in Damascus.
    Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Mideast envoy Alexander Sultanov, met on Sunday (July 19) with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem in Damascus.
    The discussions focused on the bilateral relations and the situation in the region as well as the peace conference Russia is expected to hold in Moscow on the Middle East.
    Sultanov's visit comes days after the statements of his counterpart, Foreign Minister al-Moallem, who confirmed that Syria would not take part in any peace conference if it is not prepared well and if Israel , by its end , is not going to recognize the resolutions of international legitimacy.
    Sultanov, who arrived yesterday (July 18) in Syria, met earlier with Hamas Leader Khaled Meshaal and they both discussed the developments of the dialogue between Hamas and Fatah and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
