- Story Text: China stands behind efforts made by Arab League to solve the problems in Syria, said a Chinese official in Damascus on Thursday (October 27, 2011).
"China supports the efforts made by the Arab League to make Syria launch a comprehensive political process whose contribution is wide in order to avoid it (Syria) the foreign intervention", said Wu Sike, China's Envoy to the Middle East, during a news conference held at the end of his visit to Syria.
Sike added: "As Syria is a sovereign state, we see that we should leave the Syria issue for the Syria people to find convenient ways to solve the current crisis in Syria. And we wish these ways suit the national conditions in Syria".
Sike, who met with Syrian Vice-President Farouq al-Shara' and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem, said that China always backs fair causes and it does not have intentions in Syria because it is a friendly state to Syria and it people.
A ministerial delegation from Arab League met yesterday (October 26, 2011) with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in order to find a way to solve the seven-month crisis in the country.
