  • Story Text: Syria's opposition National Council will open an office in Tripoli shortly, its official said in Tripoli on Thursday (February 16).
    The development came a day after Libya's interim leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil invited the Syria rebels to open an office in the Libyan capital.
    The secretary of the Syrian Coordination Council said in Tripoli that members of the council would arrive in Tripoli soon.
    "Through our contact with the executive office of the National Syrian Council and the leadership of the National Syrian Council which is now in Doha, Qatar -- they informed us that a committee was formed and it is the official representative in Libya and this committee will arrive in the next few days," said Mohamed Ali Ahmed, secretary of the Syrian Coordination Council.
