- Story Text: The killing of an ICRC medic in Douma was condemned by the aid organisation on Thursday (April 26).
Mohammed Khadra, a Syrian Arab Red Crescent first aid volunteer was killed on Tuesday (April 24), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said on its website, adding the circumstances of his death were still unclear. Two other Red Crescent workers were injured in the same incident.
IFRC president Tadateru Konoe has already expressed concerns about attacks on the organisation's staff and colunteers in Syria.
Rabab al-Rifai, spokeswoman for the IFRC, condemned the killing adding: "What should happen in the future is that this emblem is respected. Be it on people, be it on vehicles, be it on buildings and that people providing life saving assistance are respected at all times." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
