- Story Text: Tens of people gathered in Saba' Bahrat square, a main square in Damascus, on Thursday (May 10), to condemn the two blasts that hit the city earlier in the day, killing dozens of civilians and soldiers.
The demonstrators lit candles and read al-Fatiha, a part of the holy Koran, for the souls of the victims of blasts in the Syrian capital They carried Syrian flags and cheered for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
One woman who gave her name as Rayya said the blood of Syrians would not be wasted.
"We promise that the Syrians' blood will not be wasted no matter how much you cause explosions. You are the military side of Mossad and Masonic. That's why you did that to Syrian people," she said.
Two suicide car bombers killed 55 people and wounded 372 in Damascus on Thursday, state media said.
It was the deadliest attacks in the Syrian capital since an uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began 14 months ago. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
