- Story Text: Almost daily attacks by Syrian government forces on the town of Aziz have left the town in ruins.
Residents of the northern Syrian town of Azaz said the almost daily attacks on their town were an act of "revenge" by the Syrian regime.
A video obtained by Reuters and said to be filmed on September 1 showed much of the town reduced to rubble, with only a handful of people in the streets.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad lost control of Azaz weeks ago, and the continual bombing by government forces has led to thousands of residents fleeing towards Turkey.
One resident, speaking on condition of anonymity said that there were no rebel fighters in the town.
"Can you see the whole area. Thirty homes were destroyed." the man said, "There are no armed people, no Free Syrian Army."
"The attack just was just an act of revenge against the people" he added.
On Wednesday (August 15) Assad's air force had attacked Azaz killing at least 35 people, a mosque also appeared to have been destroyed during the attack.
Rebels forces took control of the town on July 22, locals said. - Copyright Holder: AMATEUR VIDEO (CAN SELL)
