- Story Text: Syrian rebels try to fend-off sniper attacks in Aleppo's Kaber Jabal in a push to cut off Syria's biggest city Aleppo from the capital Damascus, and secure a strategic north-south corridor.
Several people were injured, including many children, when two neighbourhoods in Aleppo came under intensive attack by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Aleppo.
The flashpoint city has become the heart of violent attacks as members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have intensified their attacks to gain control of the city -- Syria's biggest -- and secure a strategic north-south corridor.
Amvid obtained by Reuters showed groups of women and children evacuate a housing complex after it came under a night-time mortar attack by the Syrian army. Many wounded people were taken to hospital, including children and elderly residents.
On Saturday (November 3), FSA fighters in the neighbourhood of Kaber Jabal fought off snipers trying to hide inside what appeared to be completely abandoned buildings.
The neighbourhood was in ruins after three days of fighting for control between FSA and the Syrian army.
Meanwhile, an explosion occurred outside the premises of a state-controlled labour union behind a hotel in the Syrian capital Damascus on Sunday (November 4), causing casualties, state television said.
The blast, which the television described as "terrorist" -- the government's word for rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad -- took place in the union's parking lot. It gave no more immediate details. - Copyright Holder: AMATEUR VIDEO (CAN SELL)
