- Story Text: Authorities began evacuating guests on Saturday (November 20) from a Mexican hotel after a judge ordered it closed due to the possibility of gas buildup under the building.
"Four hundred and fifty people, approximately, were made to move to different hotels," said Jesus Puc Pac the Director of Security and Public Services. "We are going to do a search using gas detectors to determine if there is a possible filtration even a little one."
One week ago five Canadian tourists and two Mexican workers were killed when a gas explosion ripped through the restaurant of the Grand Riviera Princess hotel in the beach resort of Playa del Carmen.
