- Story Text: India, the world's largest democracy, is holding its fifth General Election, with the voting spread over ten days from March 1st. Delhi, the capital, went to the polls at the half-way stage in the election and the voting was peaceful, in contrast to the violence in some areas of the country. The interest in the Delhi voting centres on the struggle between Mrs. Indira Gandhi's Congress Party and the Opposition Jan Sangh which won six of seven seats in the city in the last General Election.
This film depicts a typical day's voting and shows how voters' fingers are marked in ink so they cannot vote twice. There is good sound throughout.
