- Story Text: Broadcasters have billed it "Super Saturday" at the London Olympics, and visitors streamed in early on Saturday (August 4) to take their places in the park's various venues, ready for a day of sporting action.
Earliest were the hockey fans, ready to watch Australia and South Africa's women teams play their pool match.
Vanessa and Shauna Watson from Perth, Australia were full of enthusiasm for their team.
"It's going to be fantastic. We're really positive and confident," they said. "We've had two wins already and a third one coming up right now."
South Africans Geralyn Roberts and Lauren Parry of Durban had seats for the hockey and have enjoyed the games so far.
"Brilliant. We've done really well in the swimming with two golds and a silver so it's been a good Olympics for South Africa so far."
The athletics fans were close behind, eager to take their seats to watch Usain Bolt in the heats for the men's 100m sprint. The Britons also wanted to see heptathlon leader Jessica Ennis complete her remaining events.
Ian Semple from Shropshire was looking forward to the heats.
"We're quite excited. Hopefully see the main man Bolt if he's around," he said.
David Harwood was hoping Ennis keeps her lead.
"We're going to see the athletics, so we've got I think Usain Bolt this morning and hopefully Jessica Ennis winning the heptathlon," he said.
Later there will be the men's 10,000m final and the women's 100m final in the stadium, with other action in cycling, rowing, tennis and other sports. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
