- Story Text: Londoners gathered around the iconic Tower Bridge to watch giant Olympic Rings that had been unveiled earlier on Wednesday (June 27) being lowered.
The rings were lowered as the city marks the one month countdown until the Games begin.
The bridge is now home to a set of giant Olympic Rings, the latest to be unveiled across the capital and the UK in celebration of the summer of sport.
The rings can be retracted and lowered to allow the bridge to open and let ships pass.
The Bridge is equipped with state-of-the-art energy efficient lighting system, which was turned on for the first time last month.
The iconic rings on the iconic bridge will be lit up every night during the Games which begin on July 27. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
