  • Story Text: Overnight storm in Austria causes flooding, fallen trees damage parked cars.
    A storm late on Wednesday night (July 23) has caused flooding in the Austrian capital of Vienna and fire fighters and rescue services were busy clearing roads from fallen trees for hours.
    In the city's 18th district, firemen with chainsaws were seen cutting trees away from damaged parked cars.
    Cars drove through puddles of water, while pedestrians who did not make it home in time before the storm tried to jump over the pools of water.
    Two young women holding a wet poodle on its leash ran for shelter as heavy rain continued to fall.
    The storm in Vienna was preceded by hot weather, according to local reports, and much of the country was affected by the storms.
