- Story Text: There seems no respite in sight from freezing temperatures as German commuters in the capital wrap up warm and put on a brave face in the minus 13 degrees coconditions.
The cold pressure system bringing frosty air from Siberia caught people by surprise after an unusually mild winter through to the end of January.
But Berliners, some even out in ski suits, seemed happy enough.
"The sun is shining, so I don't mind it being cold. It'S dry, it's great! It's possible to bear you just have to get dressed up warmly," Horst Fischer said.
"It's unusually cold at the moment. I am looking for something warm to eat for breakfast but it can be nice. It's interesting to see how nature can change in such a short space of time," said Klaus Lorenz standing on the banks of the frozen river Spree.
Temperatures look set to stay well into the minus until at least the weekend. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
