- Story Text: The second annual 'Sexiest Geek Alive' contest has taken place in San Jose, California. Eight technology-oriented geek finalists, chosen from a pool of approximately 10,000, vied for the crown and title.
The 'Sexiest Geek Alive' contest took place at the San Jose Convention Center on Wednesday (June 20). Eight finalists endured a Question and Answer session followed by a talent competition. Talent offerings ranged from original geek poetry readings to dramatic interpretations of scenes from Return of the Jedi to baton twirling.
The runaway winner was MIT Ph.D., and Mills College Professor, Ellen Spertus of San Francisco, California. Ellen claimed it was the hometeam advantage, but it was her home video that chronicles her lifelong commitment to geekdom that charmed the judges and won audience approval.
The newly crowned, sexy geek drives an electric car, enjoys making computer boards and teaches operating systems.
The prizes include a cruise for two to the Caribbean and a Gateway computer. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
