- Story Text: Chinese and Houston Rockets basketball star Yao Ming shared the secret of his success with 3,000 youths at a forum in Hong Kong's Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Thursday (September 22). Yao was invited to Hong Kong for a three-day visit as an ambassador for the Hong Kong Committee for China AIDS Initiative to promote public awareness on HIV/Aids and helped raise money. AIDS scientist David Ho, a basketball fan, praised Yao for helping people less fortunate than himself. "I have to point out the fact that he has helped us for 18 months now and this is reflection of his big heart. He has a conscience besides being a sports star, he has concern for others," Ho said. Most of the teenagers wanted to know about Yao's basketball achievements and how to handle pressure in his daily life. "I think pressure could come from the back to push you forward and it could come from the front and push you backward. It depends on your way of thinking. I hoped it would push me forward from my back." Yao said. Yao also gave advice to the young basketball players after watching their ball handling skills and a friendly match. He left Hong Kong later on Thursday and will return to training with the Houston Rockets after a short holiday in Shanghai.
