- Story Text: German police are watching home videos made by a sex
cannibal who apparently shared a last meal of flambeed penis
with his willing victim before carving him up and freezing the
man's remaining body parts to eat later.
The 41-year-old man has been remanded in custody after
confessing to the killing, which followed a ritual in which
both he and the victim nibbled at the victim's severed penis.
The accused killed the 42-year-old male with deep cuts to
the neck, and chopped the body into pieces which he froze and
later ate, prosecutors said, adding that they were treating
the case as murder.
The accused has not been identified but media reported he
is a computer technician.
A prosecutor said he was not undergoing any psychiatric treatment.
Police said they were conducting a thorough search of the
killer's elegant half-timbered home in the town of Rotenburg
in central Germany, where they have already found deep-frozen
human flesh, bones and video recordings of the deed.
A Rotenburg resident said he was surprised.
"No, I did not. I heard about it on TV last night and
asked myself what was happening here. But I don't know more
than that," the man said as he stood outside the house - the
scene of the crime.
The accused had found the apparently willing victim
through an advertisement posted on the Internet, the state
prosecutor's office in Kassel said. One newspaper reported the
advert read: "Seeking young, well-built 18 to 30-year-old for
slaughter."
The court prosecutor explained details of the crime to
Reuters.
"He is accused of killing a then 42-year-old man man with
his consent in front of a video camera.
The assailant and the victim met via an internet advertisement placed by the
accused.
Both have cannibalistic and homosexual tendencies.
The victim then allegedly contacted the accused and later the
crime happened
After the assailant had killed his victim he
then chopped up the body, stored portions of human flesh in a
freezer and buried the rest of the body in the garden,"
Hans-Manfred Jung said.
The killing revives memories of previous cases of
cannibalism, both fictional and real, such as Hannibal Lecter,
the serial murderer created by author Thomas Harris.
Real-life killer Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to several
life terms for the murders of 17 young men and boys in a
13-year, necrophilous rampage of dismemberment and
cannibalism.
Dahmer was was killed in prison in November 1994.
The difference is that the German cannibal's victim was
supposedly willing.
