- Story Text: Walking down the red carpets around the world, celebrities tend to have one thing on their minds; the promotion of their latest film, album or event.
But as the holiday season approaches, even the hottest Hollywood stars take time off to think of their fans and share their holiday spirit.
Celebrities ranging from Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston and Johnny Depp to rock heroes Slash and Ozzie recently took a moment to send their personal seasons greetings.
Whereas most celebrities simply contended with wishing their fans 'Happy Holidays', some took a more serious tone.
"It is my pleasure to wish everybody that can see this, the happiest and healthiest and safest holiday season ever on the planet. I wish you the best, I really do," said Henry Winkler.
"Yeah , we're looking - we'd love a little peace on earth, that would be great," said Hope Davis.
For American actors Virginia Madsen and Danny Glover, the message had a political tone.
"Well I'd like to wish a Merry Christmas to all our troops over there. Come home safe," said Madsen.
"I wish people the best this holiday season and may the next year bring us a world in which we understand more, we struggle for justice more and we elevate the most human parts of us, and the most dynamic human parts of us more," said Danny Glover, who is also a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador.
Some celebrities tried to find new angles to the traditional holiday season.
"Happy end of the football season," Mexican actor Diego Luna wished his fans.
"Happy end of the football season, I hope it goes really short and that the football season starts really close, no worry, you'll have time to celebrate," his heart-throb friend, Gael Garcia Bernal added.
For some, this was a chance to give out some advice. Regardless how you plan to celebrate this year's festive season, it would seem that there is advice to be given from all quarters on how to spend it.
"Please don't drink too much," said British actor Steve Coogan.
"Enjoy the time with your families," said actor Terrence Howard.
"Have a good one and drive safe," guitarist Slash said.
"Watch out for the chocodile," warned Green Day frontman Billy Joe. And that is good advice from the band who ended the year taking home 'Favorite Album' at the American Music Awards and start the new year with a nomination for a Grammy for their album 'American Idiot'. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
