- Story Text: Oliver Powers and his wife Ida, parents of the American U-2 pilot, Frances Gary Powers, arrived in London, Aug 11, on their way to Moscow, where their son is to stand trial, Aug 11, charged with spying for the United States. Mrs. Powers - who has a very weak heart - was accompanied by her doctor.
Soon after leaving the jet airliner Oliver Powers answered questions put to him by newsmen.
Barabara Powers, 24-year-old wife of the U-2 pilot, is due to leave New York, Aug 12, for Moscow. She has delayed her trip in the hope that visas may be granted for her mother and several friends.
