  • Story Text: King Hussein returned to Jordan yesterday (Friday) after his two-week visit to the United States and Europe. There was a big official welcome for him at Amman airport while thousands of Jordanians cheered him along the route to the city.

    The King, who went first to New York primarily to address the United Nations General Assembly's special session on the Middle East, had talks with President Johnson in Washington.

    But so far there are no indications that he received promises of military assistance in Washington, nor in London where he talked with the British Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Wilson
    From London, King Hussein in flew early this week to Paris for talks with President de Gaulle and then on to Rome for an audience with the Pope./
