- Story Text: David Jacobs and Judy Wills, of the United States, won the men's and women's titles in the World Trampoline championships at London's Crystal Palace today (Saturday). Their status is in no way affected by a dispute over the interpretation of the rules in the men's synchronised event. A decision will be made tomorrow after film taken during the event has been shown, and if the dispute is upheld the event will be staged again later in the day.
The dispute arose after three countries were alleged not to have been in synchronisation when they began their routine on the trampoline.
The championships featured stars from the U.S.A, Britain, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Holland, South Africa, Japan, Norway, Poland, and Russia.
Results were: Men's event: 1) David Jacobs (U.S.A.), 2) Dave Curtis (Britain), 3) Mike Williams (Britain). Women's event: 1) Judy Wills (USA), 2) Nancy Smith USA), 3) Charlene Paletz (South Africa). Women's synchronised event: 1. U.S.A; 2. Germany; 3. Britain.
