- Story Text: The United Nations Security Council, called into session yesterday (Thursday) after Lebanon complained of Israeli "aggression", debated Israel's raid on Beirut and Sidon the previous Tuesday.
Lebanon Ambassador Edouard Ghorra argued his country's case against the "organised terrorism" committed by Israel. He asked for the Security Council should take meaningful action to stop "Israeli aggression".
His statement was refuted by the Israeli Ambassador Yosef Tekoah, who argued that Tuesday's raid had saved the lives of many in the Middle East who might have fallen victim of future Palestine guerrilla operations -- organised from Lebanon:
