- Story Text: A memorial service was held in Sarajevo on Saturday (August 20) for the French United Nations (U.N.) soldier killed by a sniper while manning an observation post at the city's Jewish cemetery.
Marine paratrooper Jean Marc Carbonnel was shot in the head while on patrol in the hills above the capital.
He died later from his wounds.
After the service, the coffin was taken to Sarajevo airport to be flown to France for burial.
