- Story Text: Gas supplies were back on in parts of sarajevo on Tuesday (October 10) afternoon, fulfilling an essential precondition for a ceasefire in Bosnia-Herzegovina and offering the people of Sarajevo the prospect of relief from a fourth winter without power.
"As far as we are concerned the facilities are restored. it is now up to the parties (in the conflict)", United Nations Protection Force spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Chris Vernon said.
Citizens were being warned to guard against gas leaks.
The Bosnian capital's pipes have been neglected for years and the gas is odourless.
