- Story Text: Consumer champion Ralph Nader -- a persistent critic of U.S. industries -- levelled a scathing attack against multinational corporations on Wednesday (12 September). Speaking before a United Nations panel investigating the impact of such corporations on international relations, Mr. Nader described the multinational companies as "global power seekers."
Mr. Nader said the world could not tolerate "rampant economic power". He noted that the multinational community was growing by 10 per cent a year -- about twice as fast as the world gross national product.
