- Story Text: Political extremists are believed to have started a fire in a timber yard in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 10 February 1971). Nearly 100 firemen fought the blaze which could be seen from all over the city. Damage is estimated as at least GBP1,500,000 sterling. The fire came only hours after the deaths of five civilians in a landmine blast and further violence during an Irish Republican Army funeral procession.
