- Story Text: Chelsea fans in Stockholm on Wednesday (May 13) celebrated their teams' victory in the European Cup Winners' Cup final while their heroes flew back to London.
Diminutive Italian Gianfranco Zola worked his magic for Chelsea, scoring 23 seconds after coming on as substitute to hand the London side a 1-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart.
Zola, who had been kept on the bench in the first half for fear of aggravating a recent injury, replaced Norway's Tore Andre Flo in the 71st minute.
Captain Dennis Wise immediately fed him with a glorious pass and the Italian strode into the box and lashed a rising half-volley past helpless Austrian keeper Franz Wohlfahrt into the roof of the net.
The single goal was enough for player-manager Gianluca Vialli's multinational side to earn the club their first European trophy since they beat Real Madrid 27 years ago in the same competition.
