- Story Text: The incoming commander of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in former Yugoslavia met the vice-president of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday (February 24) General Bernard Janvier and the outgoing UNPROFOR commander in former Yugoslavia General Bertrand de Lapresle discussed the continuation of the current ceasefire with Ejup Ganic at the Bosnian presidency in Sarajevo.
Bosnian government officials have been concerned about violations of the ceasefire in the northwestern enclave of Bihac.
There have been continued clashes, with Moslem rebels backed by Bosnian and Croatian Serbs fighting the Moslem-led government army.
U.N. officials say there are fewer clashes than before last year's ceasefire.
Ganic said UNPROFOR had agreed to step up patrols in Bihac.
