- Story Text: The German national soccer team tied 3-3 with Colombia
in Miami's Orange Bowl in a friendly match as the German coach
explained they were ambushed by two sides fieldly experimental
squads they could not prepare for.
The match on Tuesday (February 09) was the last match
of Germany's United States tour, in which they lost to the
hosts 3-0 and tied 3-3 with Colombia.Faustino Asprilla for
Colombia and Michael Preetz of Germany scored two goals each
in the electrifying match watched by close to 40,000 fans.
After the match, German coach Erich Ribbeck analyzed his
team and said he felt at ease with his decision to use a
combination of young and old players in matches.
Ribbeck said the Colombian team were both all of nothing
as were the American side.He said the Colombians were
"technically excellent" and experimenting with a new
configuration they had not used six months before.
