- Story Text: The visit of United States Secretary of State, Doctor Henry Kissinger has caused a flurry of diplomatic activity in Jerusalem.
Israeli Foreign Minister Abba Eban had an hour-long discussion with the United States Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Kenneth Keating, during which they discussed Middle East issues and details of the visit. The meeting was called at the Ambassador's request.
Undoubtedly the two men discussed Israel's disappointment at the American vote in the United National Security Council on a resolution regarded in Israel as one sided an anti-Israeli.
The United States voted for the resolution which censured Israel for a reprisal raid on April 12, against six Lebanese villages but also condemned all acts of violence which resulted in the loss of innocent lives. On the same day, Tuesday (April 30) the Israeli cabinet met in special session to discuss disengagement talks.
Israel's ambassador to the United States, Mr. Simha Dienitz, flew in form Washington to attend the meeting.
