- Story Text: Israeli Prime Minster Mrs. Golda Meir announced at Tel Aviv's Lod airport on Saturday (November 10th) that Israel had decided to accept the six-point peace plan proposed by united States Secretary of State, Dr. Henry Kissinger. She expressed the hope that it would lead to real and serious negotiations' with Egypt.
Mrs. Meir made the announcement just before boarding an aircraft for London, to attend a meeting of the Socialist International. She said that Major-General Aharon Yarly had been authorised to sign the agreement at a meeting point on the Cairo-Suez road.
The main points of the agreement are the continuation of supplies to the encircled Egyptian Third Army, the exchange of prisoners of war and immediate discussions on the ceasefire lines. this is the first time since 1949 that an Egyptian-Israeli conflict has ended in a signed agreement, and Mrs. Meir was hopeful for the future.
