- Story Text: Israeli strike in Gaza injures two Palestinians, Israeli security camera catch Palestinian rocket as it hits Israel. A fresh Israeli airstrike in Gaza City injured two Palestinians on Friday night (May 18), just as Israeli channel 10 aired rare footage showing the moment when a Palestinian rocket hit Israel.
An Israeli military aircraft fired a missile at two Hamas target in northern Gaza City, wounding at least two Palestinians, witnesses and medical officials said.
Israel's air force has struck in Gaza at least three times on Friday, targeting Hamas facilities following cross-border rocket salvoes by the Palestinian militant group.
At the same time in Israel, rare footage of the exact moment when a Palestinian rocket launched from the Gaza Strip hit the ground in southern Israel were aired on Israeli channel 10.
The video, taken by a security camera located near a petrol station at the outskirts of the southern Israeli town of Sderot, shows cars and trucks driving in the area and local residents walking the street just moments before the missile hit.
An Israeli army spokesman told Reuters that 40 missiles were launched from Gaza into Israel during the day, and more than 100 during the past week.
Earlier on Friday, Israel struck Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday and threatened more strong action to stop rocket attacks while Palestinian rival factions fought each other in turmoil verging on civil war. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
