  • Story Text: Israeli air strike on northern Gaza kills at least one Palestinian, just hours before leaders convene for peace talks in Annapolis, Maryland.
    An Israeli air strike killed one Hamas militant east of Jabalya in northern Gaza on early Tuesday (Nov. 27) local medical workers said.
    Hamas officials stated that an Israeli air strike killed one of its members in the north of Gaza strip.
    An Israeli army spokeswoman said Israeli aircraft fired at two gunmen who were approaching the security fence and apparently planting a device, and identified hitting them.
    Israel has stepped up air strikes and military incursions since Hamas seized control of Gaza in June.
    This incident brings the total of killed militants to 4 in less than 24 hours, hours before leaders convene for peace talks in Annapolis, Maryland.
