- Story Text: France prepared for its seventh day of national protests and strikes on Thursday (October 28) with train services only slightly affected by the national call to stop work issued by unions protesting the passage of a controversial pension reform plan.
State Railways SNCF said it was cancelling only 20 percent of its high-speed services, compared to around 40 percent for the previous stoppages, a sign many commentators took that the wave of industrial unrest might be easing.
"Trains work one day and then not another. It's a joke," said one passenger at the city's main line Gare du Nord. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
