- Story Text: Petroleum experts from 24 countries discussed the effects of the Arab oil supply ??? at a meeting of the Oil Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris on Tuesday (November 20).
??? their last meeting, less than a month ago, Arab countries have cut their production by more than one quarter.
The Committee found that some OECD members were being hit very much harder than others. Holland which is under a total embargo was clearly suffering worst but West G???, Switzerland and Australia, which import much of their oil through the Dutch port at ???dam, were also experiencing serious shortfalls.
Since the last meeting the Committee's Dutch chairman L.G. Wansink had been ??? information from the oil committees in an attempt to clarify the confusing supply situation.
Sports from the Committee meeting said members were reluctant to back any sharing ??? which might provoke the Arabs into further cutting of supplies -- making it even ??? difficult to help countries in need, on a discreet and informal basis.
OECD officials said international oil companies were balancing out some of the ???ges by shipping more non Arab oil than usual to those countries whose supplies have been embargoed.
