- Story Text: Victoria Beckham was on hand to help promote the United Kingdom as a top destination for travel, investment and education, on Wednesday (February 15), as the British fashion designer took time out from New York's fashion week to attend the "GREAT" campaign in Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal.
Beckham, along with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, joined the British ambassador to the United States Sir Peter Westmacott and British Consul-General Danny Lopez as a train, wrapped in the Union Jack, pulled into the station platform.
GREAT is promoting the U.K. around the world as a great place to visit, invest and study and is part of the British government's drive to keep the spotlight shining ahead of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In addition to the Union Jack-wrapped New York City subway car, trains will also be decorated at commuter stations in Hoboken, New Jersey and Stamford, Connecticut. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
