- Story Text: Diamond Jubilee enthusiasts camped out all night in front of Buckingham Palace to see the last day of the celebrations on Tuesday (June 5).
Monday (June 4) night saw a who's who of British music talent entertaining Queen Elizabeth II and several members of the royal family.
Royal revellers from around the world paid homage to their 60-year-reigning monarch.
"She's our queen too so I think it's important that we show up and represent Canada and what a wonderful monarch we've had. And we're here to honour her," Dan, from London, Ontario in Canada said.
The jubilant atmosphere and adrenaline of parking up on the Mall prevented many from sleeping throughout the night but there seemed to be little complaints.
"She puts the great in Great Britain and that's why we're here. We're here to celebrate that. She's what makes Britain great. We haven't got a lot of things to celebrate at the moment but that is a really great thing to celebrate," said Lisa.
For others, it was another royal event not to be missed.
"I remember the Golden Jubilee. I don't remember the Silver Jubilee so I just felt like it was something really important to get involved in. We're never going to see a 60-year-reign in our lifetime so it's really important to come along and be a part of it," added Jenny.
The Duke of Edinburgh's ill health due to a bladder infection didn't put a damper on festivities as royal fans wished a speedy recovery for Prince Philip.
Tuesday's procession will see the queen attending a service at St. Paul's before riding in an open-topped carriage from Westminster to Buckingham Palace. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
