  • Story Text: Drinks brand Campari unveiled the full imagery from their 2015 calendar on Wednesday (November 05) with the star of it, Eva Green, turning out for a news conference.
    Shot by photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten, the calendar called 'Mythology Mixology' shows Green in numerous surroundings, outfits and situations from being a girl waiting for a train to a boxer in a gym and an astronaut on the moon.
    The actress, best known for her roles in Bond movie 'Casino Royale', 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill for' and '300: Rise of an Empire', said she found the scope of the experience very pleasurable, saying "I'm quite shy so I hate it in photo shoots sometimes when you have to be frontal and smile. I want just to be myself and be free and play characters and wearing beautiful costumes and I love beautiful make-up as well. It's a kind of armour in a way, yeah."
    Fullerton-Batten is the first female photographer ever used for the Campari calendar and said she was slightly nervous working with Green as she had had previous experiences with working with actresses.
    "Actresses can be real prima donnas. They only like to be photographed from one side," she said. "They are very particular about how they look and if I wanted to do a slight change on her, like the hair or make-up, it was no problem. I'd say 'I think it's a little bit too much make-up, a little bit too much red lips', she'd have no problem changing it so she was very down to earth and very easy to get along with."
    Green also had a lot of love for Fullerton-Batten saying in front of the journalists at the news conference to the photographer "Everything was so precise with you, everything was so organised and the amazing thing was I was able to find some freedom in those kind of boundaries. It was... you're amazing, Julia."
    Previous actresses who have been shot for the calendar have included Penelope Cruz (2013) and Uma Thurman (2014). Asked how she felt being the latest in a line of famous actresses, Green replied "I mean, I felt very priveleged to follow in the footsteps of those amazing actresses but for me, this is a very different story, a very different piece. Julia was more my inspiration. It's very different."
    Green was asked during the news conference if she'd consider starring in London's West End. She said she'd like to but only if it was a small theatre as she finds theatre terrifying.
    "It's quite scary to be on stage. Like at three o'clock, you go 'oh my god, I have to be on stage in a few hours.' It's another process. It's quite scary but it's also kind of amazing because you feel the electricity with the audience. It's kind of immediate and magical but it's bloody scary," she explained.
    And asked which London establishment she liked to frequent for a small Campari cocktail, the actress replied "I'm not like a party girl. I'm more an old lady so if I have an aperitif, maybe I'll have it at home."
    For people wanting to get hold of the calendar, sadly it isn't for sale - 9,999 editions of the calendar are made available and only given to 'friends of Campari'.
