- Story Text: Campaigning in India's General Election reached its climax at the weekend. In Bombay 47 candidates are fighting for five seats in the House of the People. Among them is General K.M. Cariappa, India's first Army chief, who is standing as an Independent. Election fever is mounting and party emblems are everywhere--even on the boats on the boats of the fishermen in the harbour
Voting in the election begins on Monday (March I) and will continue for ten days. In Bombay itself it will take place on March 6.
