- Story Text: A group of thirty migrants, waving placards, demonstrated at Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney Sept 23, as a troupe of 55 Yugoslav dancers arrived by air for a first-time tour of Australia. The dancers, known as the Kolo Company, are under sponsorship of the Yugoslav Government.
Demonstrators from Sydney's Croatian Community waved placards telling the dancers to go home. Other banners claimed oppression of the Croatian people by the Tito Government. Police guarding the entrance to the overseas terminal quickly ushered the dancers past the migrants.
The demonstration continued outside as the dancers gave an impromptu performance for television.
One of the demonstrators claimed hundreds of Croats had died at the hands of the Tito Government, and thousands of others were living in distress or poverty. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
