    The Israeli government is getting ready for the arrival of the multinational peacekeeping force which will patrol the Sinai peninsula occupied since the 1967 was--after Israeli's withdrawal. The crowded beaches of Eilat now form a sharp contrast with the south-eastern coast-line of the peninsula. In the Sharm el Sheik area, hotels and beaches are deserted. The official deadline for the completion of Israel's withdrawal from the Sinai is 25 April under the terms of the treaty with Egypt. But Israel's Ministry of Communications had already cut telephone services, except for a few emergency lines. In the holiday resorts along the Gulf of Aqaba, hotel staff have been instructed to leave by 31 March. Some did not wait until then. There are, however, signs of activity. Construction workers are busy erecting buildings for the multinational peacekeeping forces who will soon be taking control of the area. But among the many Israeli settlers in Southern Sinai, there is an air of defeat. They have resigned themselves to moving out, knowing that the peace process cannot be reversed.
