- Story Text: In a ceremony in Nairobi on Tuesday(29 February) Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta unveiled a "Cairn of Peace" set with stone from some 36 African countries. The Cairn, in the Jamhuri Park Showgrounds, is to commemorate the first All-African Trade Fair which opened its doors February 23.
The stones are set in a nine-ton rock brought from hills near Nairobi.
The 12-day fair is organised by the 41-nation Organisation of African Unity to foster trade and contacts between African countries and to show the world the continent's potential for development.
